MY STORY
David Hoot has been doing stained glass for almost 10 years. He apprenticed for a year in Key West, FL with Wayne Smith, a long-time local artist. During his apprenticeship, he was especially pleased to have assisted in completing a 4-foot circular window for the Key West GLBT Community Center.
Using the copper-foil technique developed by Louis Tiffany in the late 1800’s, each unique work by David is created entirely by hand. No subject or design is off-limits for his clients. You are encouraged to use your imagination. But if you need some inspiration, he has hundreds of patterns to get you started.
His work includes a series of nudes, as well as more mainstream subject matter.
David’s work can be found in homes, churches, and businesses throughout the world. Recent projects have included a 7-foot window for his church, Community of Hope, and an 8-foot cross window for the mission retreat center in Chacraseca, Nicaragua.
David currently lives in Tulsa, OK
